Getting Started

What is aidnn?

aidnn is an AI-powered data analyst that helps you understand, prepare, and analyze your data through natural conversation. You ask questions in plain English, and aidnn creates plans, performs analysis, and presents insights—no coding or technical skills required.

Do I need technical skills to use aidnn?

No! aidnn is designed for business professionals without technical backgrounds. If you can describe what you want to know about your data, aidnn can help you analyze it.

How do I get started?

  1. Log in to your aidnn instance
  2. Upload a file or connect a data source
  3. Start asking questions about your data
  4. Review and approve aidnn’s plans

Working with Data

How do I upload a file?

Simply drag and drop your file into aidnn, or click the “Upload File” button. Supported formats include CSV, Excel (.xlsx, .xls), JSON, and more. Maximum file size is 100MB. See File Upload Guide for details.

Can I connect to Google Drive?

Yes! Connect your Google Drive to access spreadsheets and data files directly. Files stay synced automatically so you always work with the latest data. See Google Drive Guide for setup instructions.

What if my file is larger than 100MB?

For larger files, you have options:
  • Use Google Drive connection (supports up to 5GB)
  • Connect directly to your database
  • Split the file into smaller chunks

How do I connect to my database?

Go to Data Sources → Add Connection → Select your database type. You’ll need connection details like host, database name, username, and password. See Database Connections for step-by-step guides.

Can I work with multiple data sources?

Yes! You can combine data from multiple sources in a single analysis. For example, join uploaded CSV data with your database or QuickBooks data.

How do I know which data sources are connected?

Click “Data Sources” in the sidebar to see all your connections, their status, and manage them.

Using aidnn

How do I ask questions?

Just type naturally in the conversation area. Be specific about:
  • What you want to know
  • Which data to use
  • How you want to see results

What is a plan and why do I need to approve it?

A plan is aidnn’s step-by-step explanation of what it will do to answer your question. You must review and approve it before aidnn proceeds. This keeps you in control and ensures aidnn understood correctly. See Understanding Plans for details.

Can I modify a plan?

Yes! If the plan isn’t quite right, you can:
  • Request specific changes
  • Ask aidnn to explain steps
  • Cancel and rephrase your question
Just tell aidnn what needs to be different.

What if aidnn doesn’t understand my question?

Try these approaches:
  • Rephrase more simply
  • Break complex questions into smaller steps
  • Provide more context or examples
  • Be more specific about what you want

Can I save my work?

Yes! Sessions are automatically saved. You can:
  • Name sessions for easy finding
  • Return to previous analyses anytime
  • Share sessions with team members
  • Export results as CSV or Excel

How do I share my analysis with others?

Click the share icon in your session and add team members by email. They’ll be able to view the full conversation and results, and can ask follow-up questions if given collaboration access.

Data Security & Privacy

Is my data secure?

Yes. Your data security is our top priority:
  • All connections use encryption
  • Credentials are securely stored
  • You control what data aidnn can access
  • You can revoke access anytime

Who can see my data?

By default, only you can see your data and analyses. You control sharing:
  • Private: Only you
  • Shared: Specific people you invite
  • Account: Your organization (if applicable)

Where is my data stored?

Data remains in your secure environment. aidnn:
  • Reads from your sources when needed
  • Stores analysis results in your account
  • Doesn’t keep complete copies of your source data
  • Deletes session data when you delete sessions

Can aidnn modify my data?

No. aidnn has read-only access to your data sources. It can:

What are citations?

Citations [1], [2], [3] show where each piece of information comes from. Click a citation to see the source data or analysis step. This provides transparency and lets you verify claims.

Troubleshooting

My file won’t upload

Check:
  • File size is under 100MB
  • File format is supported (CSV, Excel, JSON, etc.)
  • File isn’t password-protected or corrupted
  • Your internet connection is stable

Connection to my database failed

Verify:
  • Host address and port are correct
  • Username and password are correct
  • You have necessary permissions
  • Firewall allows the connection

aidnn’s results seem wrong

Steps to verify:
  1. Check the plan - was it correct?
  2. Verify you’re using the right data source
  3. Confirm filters are what you intended
  4. Check for data quality issues
  5. Ask aidnn to explain the calculation

The plan seems incorrect

You can:
  • Request modifications to specific steps
  • Ask aidnn to explain its approach
  • Cancel and rephrase your question more clearly
  • Break the question into smaller parts

Analysis is taking a long time

For large datasets:
  • Be patient - complex analysis takes time
  • Consider filtering to smaller date ranges
  • Use database connections instead of file uploads
  • Break into smaller analytical steps

I can’t find a previous session

Try:
  • Use the search function
  • Check if it’s archived
  • Filter by date range
  • Look under shared sessions if it was shared with you

Account & Settings

How do I change my password?

Go to Settings → Account → Change Password.

Can I have multiple people on my account?

Yes, aidnn supports teams. Contact your administrator to add team members.

How do I disconnect a data source?

Go to Data Sources → Select the connection → Click Disconnect. Note: This will break sessions using that data source.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. You can:
  • Delete individual sessions
  • Remove uploaded files
  • Disconnect data sources
  • Contact support for account deletion

Billing & Plans

What’s included in my plan?

Is there a limit on data size?

Limits depend on your plan:
  • File uploads: Up to 100MB per file
